3/6/2008 - Crime in Stereo

by Dani

Once again on March 6th, the employees of Orphic Pro were thrust, albeit willingly, into the mosh pit to support Crime In Stereo; who were on tour supporting headlining act, Comeback Kid. Once in a great while a hardcore band comes around that embraces the punk derived roots, while innovatively expanding the genre. Currently the band resides with Bridge Nine Records after departing with Nitro Records last year - owned by Dexter of Offspring.

Orphic is proud to feature their song, "Amsterdamned" in the soundtrack of the upcoming release Dead Air. Crime In Stereo has always jabbed fun at authority figures and their previous record labels. Perhaps it was their Long Island roots that bring the upfront, witty, and often abrasive tones in their lyrics. Despite several personal health issues the band has toured incessantly for years and is finally starting to get the recognition and respect they deserve. “Amsterdamned” is not only a full-throttle, pit-inducing punk song, but also lyrically a perfect fit for Orphic. Vocalist Kristin could not said it better, “So let's hear it for living your whole life, like life itself owes you one more night on the town.”

2/14/2008 - Far From Finished / US Bombs in Denver, CO

by Dani

This Valentines Day at Orphic Pro started off innocently enough, until we learned our friends, Far From Finished were in town. They were the main support for punk rock band U.S Bombs at the newly opened venue The Falcon in Englewood, Co. Far From Finished' song “A Destination Nowhere” is featured on the soundtrack of our upcoming release “Dead Air.” The venue was packed and as the band struck the first chord of the song, the audience erupted into a massive circle pit. Orphic Pro’s Dani was launched rib-cage first into the edge of the stage with her co-worker Anthony trying in vain to catch her. She laughed and claimed it was a small price to pay to honor her friends in FFF.

Far From Finished started in the outskirts of New York and has since relocated to the city of Boston, Mass. Their relentless tour schedule enables them to visit our fair city regularly. Their music conveys their messages of hope, shame, dissolution, and remorse through Steve’s gritty, i-drink-whiskey-all-day-esque vocals. Their music is reminiscent of the old school, early Boston hardcore of the early 90s, and we here at Orphic are proud to include them in our family.

Nashville Pussy in Aspen CO1/5/2008 - Nashville Pussy in Aspen, CO

by Dani

Nashville Pussy (Spitfire Records) is a Grammy Nominated American rock 'n' roll band from Atlanta, Georgia. Many of their songs are about sex, drugs, drinking, fighting, and rock 'n' roll. Much of their music is not what would be considered traditionally "radio friendly", due to their frequent use of expletives and vulgar terminology. Since it's conception in 1996, Nashville Pussy has remained true to the underground rock scene. The band has generated a loyal following of fans based on their energetic live performance and taper-friendly recording policies at shows.

Orphic developed a strong friendship with the band over the course of one week, two towns, and three live shows. Nashville Pussy played two consecutive shows in Aspen, Colorado with the legendary Reverend Horton Heat resulting in two epic evenings. Over the course of the week Orphic video-taped and photographed multiple hectic live performances of Nashville Pussy around Colorado, while trying to keep up with their strict regiment of "drink (shoot) until you can't stand."
